"Where Cotton Follow and Pretty Girls Sow"

I support my breathen and my uhmm sisters-ennnn!
How often do you meet someone who suceeds in the art of pillow-making?
{Pillowmaking??} ----> Yes, pillowmaking!
My good friend, the most beautiful Ms. Nena Benz (Moses' commentator voice....cuz she only rides Benz) has picked up this hobby which she enjoys doing and has managed to pull in a couple dollars for it. Young entrepreneur I tell you!

She's done some fab-o pieces and a lot of love goes into each custom piece. Here's a couple she has done for people.

In her own words via her F'Book:
{Customized hand made pillows I made for people and for myself. Use them to decorate your bed or to comfort you on plane or road trips! Miniature pillows are $6 and the bigger ones are $10-20 depending on detail and how much is done to the pillow. They are great AFFORDABLE gifts for babies to senior citizens. Order a pillow..make your dreams become a reality that you can lay your head on!}

There you have it folks. Support her trade! People got to live out here! there might be some back orders cuz Biology is a killa if you know what I mean LOL.

Till the Next. :)

Sorry Bikini Bottom!

Currently listening to Kid Cudi's "New, New".

I'm sitting on a full stomach right now! Why you ask? Today was NEPTUNE NIGHT on campus. Although my schedule was going to prevent me from joining in on such festivities, best believe I worked around that! If you know me, when it comes to food I mean BUSINESS! I definitely left class early to meet up with my homie Moses and lil' bro Nana. Little did I know the line was spilling outside the dining hall and winding out in front of the student center. People had their families out there, 3 generations worth. smh.
PAUSE. Ok so I definitely forgot to even explain what NEPTUNE NIGHT is.
Neptune Night is a one-a-year festivity where the dining halls across all campuses serve unlimited, all you can eat seafood. I'm talking fish, lobster, crab, shrimp....you name it.

Me likey, likey.

I was a little skeptical I was going to finish all the food I piled up, but trust me when I tell you I did :)

DEMOLITION.

My Country Tis of Thee...

I'm currently cuffed by Chemistry! Sorry Bio!
LOL. I just had to put that in there. Sorry.

I decided to crash it at home tonight....a FRIDAY night but I'll be creeping right back to the apartment tomorrow.
I was just peeping pics from last year's Nigerian Day Parade. Who is down?
Its being held in NYC Saturday, Oct 3rd. It should be a pretty live day. Nothing feels better than showing off the pride and love you have for where you come from.
Not everyone can identify with where they come from, although not necessarily by choice.
Nevertheless, we should always embrace each other's culture and shy away from the ignorance that happens to plague society today.
With that said...back to working stoichiometry problems...ugh!

VMA: The Circus

Ok, ok so before this topic gets all out of fresh, please please lets talk about the VMA's! LMAO. I dont know about you folks but I thought it was HIL-ARRR-IOUS! It was the most eventful night ever! I was tweeting and f'booking it all crazzzzyyyy!

I am tired of talking about Kanye West so that topic is SQUASHED! But I must say I found it to be circus-like with Lady Gaga as the main attraction. I don't know what possessed her to come out in public with the "outfits" she displayed to the world [peep Em's face in the pics below]. Ray Charles must have been her stylist because her face was included in the wardrobe. But I did think it was cute that Kermit the Frog was her date.

And do not get me started with Lil Mama! LMAO. I don't know if they have security backstage but this woman had the audacity to walk on stage while two MOGULS were performing with do-it-yourself bling-on jeans and a tacky Rainbow shirt they have sitting on display downtown. I-Just-Got-Off-My-Front-Porch-In-Harlem Lookin' Girl. Jay did not seem in the LEAST happy about that. Sidenote: You guys have to follow Fabo on Twitter. This man is hilarious.

I know the VMA's is jaded and all but I must say it was a wholeee lot better than the BET awards which seemed like a cookout to me.

Bey killed her performance as usual. Lady Gaga did do her thing...even though it was a tad scary. Jay blazed the stage while Alicia worked the Keys. Oh and how could I forget Madonna and her touching MJ speech and Janet's tribute (loveee her). P.S: I missed Pink's performance.

Pics Below. Enjoy.

Lady Gaga's VMA WTF Moments

Yup. Squashin' the game as usual.

Weekend Blues.

Hey guys!
Its getting harder to keep up with the blog thing with the millions upon millions of things happening on campus. Today was RU's football game versus Howard University which we attended in the RAINNN. We won 45-7! Well we better had. I'm into the whole school spirit thing but I deff got to say HU got it when it comes to their band!!! They played that swag surf well! Too bad most of the crowd had no clue what that is....ehh.

Apart from that Jay-Z's album is out. I just felt I needed to say that. I'm not big on Jay-Z but my roommate has his songs on repeat. Lol I'm into the more "non-controversial" solodolo rappers (as I would like to say) except Kanye! I love him although he's always complaining.

I'm currently playing straight Kid Cudi...love him! One of the "non-controversial" rappers I'm talking about...the ones NOT most talked about or most debated. The one's whose lyrical geniuses go unnoticed. The ones that take more time to really understand. The oddballs. Lol. I'm just waiting for the album so I can pick it up.

Anyway, nothing too crazy to rant about today but until the next...back to burning lead on these chemistry problems!

Labor Day Weekend is OVERRRR :(

Whew. Its been a while since my last post...sorry! But I'm sure you're not too concerned being that everyone was out and about enjoying the extended weekend (including me)! But now that I'm finally back behind my laptop screen its time for some random rambling. I just finished reading half of this tedious article (well technically I didnt...lol) about the "Feminist Mistique"

Enough about that.

Anyway, last week I was sitting in one of my late afternoon public health classes. The mistake I made though was to indulge in Subway's $5 footlong right before class knowing all too well what the consequence would be...I mean I was starving and a girl gotta EAT! Well, all I know is that once the instructor [ I'm not even going to call him a professor because of his attempts to play me. I'll just call him an instructor] opened his mouth I was dozing and eye-rubbing. Long story short, homie called me out subliminally.

3 Reasons Why Professors Should Not Be
Upset if A Student Proceeds to Doze or Sleep in Class:
1) Perhaps the student was up late the previous night studying or doing 50 homework questions (in which every question has like 10 parts to it). 50 x 10 = 500.

2) As in my case, some people actually do get the -itis [a falling-asleep syndrome generally associated with Black or African-Americans after having a grand meal].

3) Maybe your just that boring. Perhaps all of the above.
The best way to fall asleep studying...so your books are right there when you wake up :)

LOL homie gotta meaannn lean! No, I did not take this pic!

Until next time!

Peassh.

Ink, Paper, Paper, Pencil, and Paper?

Today was the first day of classes which was bittersweet. It feels good to be in school yet the year ahead is frightening. Already professors are bombarding you with dates upon dates, rules on top of rules, and grading systems. Good to know MIDTERMS are around the corner...smh. It was quite the run-around as well since I am in the process of making minor tweaks in my schedule. However, it was a pretty chill day and I even got a little time to hang out with some friends while being productive (although we made a good amount of noise in the computer lab).

LOL. Other than that I took the most random pictures ever throughout the day, until I finally ended it at my humble abode. :]

Keeping my fingers crossed in chem!
Till the next.!
