Nemo...Come Find Me.

I've spent the past few days taking care of school stuff and chilling with friends I havent seen in months. Its a good feeling to be around good friends.

Getting a little off topic, I saw this picture of Rihanna online and although I'm pretty much over her I love her jeans and her shoes.
FLY.
Still havent found my acid-washed jeans. Oh well, still looking.

Anywho, I'm listening to this interesting remix to Drake's track "Forever" feat. K. West, Lil Wayne and Eminem....Yes Eminem. Where you been homie?
Its pretty cool. Better than listening to "Successful" because I think if I hear it one more time I'll rip my ears off.

Nevertheless, here's the track in case you want to take a listen...

UPDATE: Sorry y'all I cant find it and I'm too lazy right now to go into an indepth search to embed it here...but you can hear it at this external link while you still can...http://concreteloop.com/2009/08/new-music-drake-ft-kanye-lil-wayne-eminem-forever

Yep....why is it still raining? Smh. So much for the weekend. Catch you guys later!

From Ashy to Classy

Through divine intervention, the other day my vintage phone (haha yea VINTAGE) gave up on me. No amount of CPR could revive the poor contraption. Being phoneless for about 24 hours was the most agonizing experience everrrrr! Anyway, immediately after (as in the next day), I ran to T-Mobile and paid FULL-PRICE for a phone. Smh. Not the dream phone I wanted *cough* Blackberry 8900 because of the fact that I am NOT eligible for an upgrade. Sooo to my disadvantage (and my poor pocket) I paid my good dollars for T-Mobile's latest phone, Samsung Comeback. Its a pretty cute phone and I seem to be texting more than usual then when I had my Sidekick. Its a good buy if you want a really chill and laid back phone without all that high-tech complicated stuff.

Anywho, Its a weird spin-off of a Sidekick but lacks a trackball and the buttons placed on both ends of the phone.
Ashy to Classy....RIP Sidekick.

Till the next y'all. Excuse the messy mani! Lol! ;)

Friends Dont Let Friends Text and Drive

While I am supposed to be packing to be leaving Tomarrow....I saw this video and was inclined to put it up. It was way too imperative. I don't even care if only ONE person sees this post; as long as I know that ONE person saw it and shared it with a friend. Because that friend will share it with another...so on and so forth.

Ill note that what you are about to see is a British commercial BLATANTLY (no subliminal attached) illustrating the dangers of texting and driving. And although it is fictional it is very REAL....Seriously. Halfway through it brought tears to my eyes. I couldn't even dare to watch this a second time.

DISCLAIMER: This video is VERYY graphic...and I mean GRAPHIC. If this isn't convincing enough about the dangers of texting and driving, then I do not know what is.

Watch.

Be safe y'all. Pass this on.

Please, please put your phone down. No 15 cent text message is worth your life or the lives of others.

Till the next.

I'm apologizing in advance...might have you guys waiting for the next two days for updates because I've been out & about, packing and all that other crap in preparation to move in to my apartment in a few days. Sooooo....

just little quotes to brighten up your day :)

"Forget love, I'd rather fall in chocolate"....yum.
"Courage doesn't always ROAR. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying 'I will try again tomorrow'" - Mary Ann Rachmacher.

Ohh lookie, its the 400th aniversary of Galileo's telescope.

Till the next...adios.

Ode to the Frosh

Back to the previous scheduled program...
So I mentioned in my last post that I would do a lil something special for the incoming students
fresh out of high school. So here it goes ;)

Dear Froshie Friends, Respective 'Fresh Meat' aka 'Boneless Ribs' (with some zesty BBQ sauce on top, not to mention) of the Future Graduating Class of '13,

The least of your troubles this year will be the excruciating itch of the Mosquito Bite from a short-lived summer or the 1,000 vigorous questions of the SAT's. Instead you will be coming of age. That is, coming of age into a world consumed by $150 dollar one-use only textbooks, gallons upon gallons of alcohol consumption, two hour drooling periods in the library, and monotone-speaking 'too high and mighty because I have a Ph.D' professors. Yep. Tough huh? But it certainly does not stop there. What about the anxiety associated with the fact your grade only depends on practically two exams? As a Catholic priest will say, "May the Lord Be with You" if the professor blesses you with three exams. And what about those meal swipes that A) either seem to never finish or B) have you living at the mercy of others? What agony. Did I mention the hustle and bustle aboard the buslines? It's just your kinda day--your running late, the bus is PACKED and today your nose is lucky to be having a sweet conversation with someone's armpit while your other arm is being crucified by someone's 99 cent spiral notebook. GREAT. Did I mention the Freshman 15? Sorry folks, its not a myth.

But its not THAT bad. Oh...but how can I forget the ladies. The top-of-the-list. The hot sauce on the chicken. The fresh cheeks. Its a dog eat cat world out there. Vulgar pun intended. Yep. And quite frankly a fox will move-it-on-in at any chance it gets. Dont be foolish. Yea, yea I know....girls just wanna have fun but so do the big bad wolves on campus. Lol. As far as I'm concerned their made for the looking but not for the taking. As a friend once said, "silly girl, he doesnt claim you!" Well the faster you drill that in your head, the less stupidity you will have to make up for in the end. And I know some of you female frosh's don't mind the attention or the danger involved in such undertakings but my word to you is fear the gift that keeps on giving! Wrap him up! ;)

And to the fellows. I don't have much to say to you really. But please leave your dashiki scarves and those fashion parade clothing you wore in high school at home because quite frankly no one cares. Make sure your sweats and your socks are freshly laundered. If they were bought white make sure they are worn white (then again, this issue extends far beyond just froshies...upperclassmen need to be well-informed as well). On another note, there is no need to come on campus and bring hood-like activities and outlandish 'street' behavior along with you in attempts to appear 'cool-like', 'wavy', or 'smooth'. As far as I'm concerned, I do not care how much cereal with water you ate in the hood or how many of your friends got shot on the block or even how advanced your blunt-rolling skills are. YOU ARE IN COLLEGE. In other words you beat the odds so in return such behaviors and attitudes need to be relinquished.

Nevertheless, I wish you young and campus-virgin froshies a great and wonderful year. Please, please, please enjoy it because your only a first-year once. Just keep in mind, you have a degree to earn and a future to pursue. So make good use of your time. College years are the best years. Play hard. Study hard, my loves. It's going to be a wonderful year. Stay blessed.

Olive

The School Bell Rings...

Damn...its that time again!
Waking up for those early morning classes.
Coming home late and hungry from lab.
Long nights goofing off with friends when you know well enough you should be studying.

With a new school year brings new books, new "swag", new room or apartment perhaps.

I don't know where I'm going with this post exactly but this might get interesting.

Fall/Spring '09 was a great catch this year entering the realm of cole-la-jeee for the first time lol. Sort of like a rite of passage.

From the countless Wallah parties, to the football games, to the endless trips aboard the 'double E'....ahhh memories.

While i would blab on and on about my different rendevous, they are all individual experiences that perhaps you wouldnt be able to relate to because...well quite frankly...you were'nt there. lol.

But anyway, I wish all continuing students good luck and those who have gotten their degrees and moved on with their lives I wish you continued success, oh and specifically a JOB in this failing economy.

Stay tuned for the next...my ode to the froshies.

Peaschh.

Chase me on twitter... @itsyagirlolivee.

Brr?

I came across this online and well....just read.

http://http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/2009/08/16/i-was-so-desperate-for-a-sex-change-i-did-it-myself-91466-24450868/

I searched and researched to check the credibility of this story because of how taken aback I was.

I believe that everyone is entitled to being themselves and true to who they are but I cannot lie and say that when I read this I wasnt shocked.

Wow.

Ms. Keri Bayy-bayy

Speaking of Keri...
...theres a new video out by R. Kelly with her featured on the track
called "Number 1"

Ehhh its alright... You can go see it here
---> http://concreteloop.com/2009/08/music-video-r-kelly-ft-keri-hilson-number-one
Its a lil too long for my liking.

In other news, these best budds look so cute! Ms. Ci Ci and La La
Just another post about nothing.
Till the next...
I Concreteloop.

Hot Tamale.

I don't care what anyone says but one of the baddest chick in the game right now has to be...has to be Ms. Keri Hilson!

Yes I said it! I dropped Rihanna a while ago. She still alright though...she's just becoming a little outlandish. Sorry Bey, you too. Oh and Ci-Ci I see you!

But Keri is making moves! Musically she has grown and she has some pretty nice tracks. Not necessarily BOMB but some of them do make the cut.But she can still grow alot musically [idk what was up with that acapella junk she did at the BET awards].

Anyway, I remember when "Knock You Down" came out. I was HOOKED! And the fact that she turned the volume up on her swag makes it even better. Maybe its the hair, or the clothes, or the attitude....idk but I love me some Keri!

These are a few takes she did for Complex recently. Good ish. Enjoy. There's more just hit up http://complex.com/ and hit GIRLS at the top.

Yeuuuppp!

Just Throw it in the Bag

So what happens when you CANT have it all?!

I wanted a Blackberry but thats a sad sad story I dont feel like talking about just yet. I'm still very disturbed.

Anyway, I was thinking about my future bankroll and something that would signify my hard work. LMBO forget a roof over my head....how about a Louis?!

These Louis Vuitton purses are from their Damier Canvas collection. Love these styles.

DUOMO...$1,520. Beautiful tote shape

BERKELEY...$1,620. Very business-looking.

TREVI GM...this bag is BADDD! The price is too...$2,040.00. BAM. I could smell the leather from here.

There "man-bags" are something serious as well.

SABANA ...$1,760.

PRESIDENTE (accent mark over the first 'E' lol)...a whooping $4,200

from the Taiga collection...ANDREI. Very sexy! ... $1,240
comes in 2 other colors as well.

Whew.
You know what I never understood? Why jacked-up looking females carried these purses around like they got it...carrying a Louis yet wearing a Rainbow shirt & Baby Phat jeans. I dont even remember what downtown looks like anymore. If your going to wear a fake Louis, wear it well. LOL, no personal attack or subliminal intended!

But that's besides the point.

You can check these purses and more at http://louisvuitton.com/. And even look at the craftmenship video behind these leather goods.

Till the next.

But anyway....I promised i would dedicate a post to my good friend Moses, which was the initial purpose. Just had to do it with a bang.

Moses is DE MAN of the CAMPUS! Lol. Who does not know him!
Lmbo, He told me to choose a pic that shows a sexy side so I have to give the celebrity what he requested.

He's prolly one of the most down-to-earth, coolest person I know. But he kno too much! He will splash at any given moment...which is how he coined the nickname Juicy.

                  Till the next y'all!

                  Peashhh.

                  Olive.

                  Age __ + 4 = ??

I dont know about all the other ladies my age but I've been told by older women in the past that young women should always date guys at least 4 -5 years older than you.....hmmmm.

Reasoning behind that is in order to get a guy to be on the same mental/maturity level as you, you're gonna have to climb higher on the age scale.

Well...some research does show that scientifically women actually do mature faster than the fellas.

Kind of brings me back to high school....always hearing girls complain that they're significant other is either "immature"..."not on my level"...or "forget him, im on my grown woman ish"....haha, I hear you girl.

While young ladies are busy dealing with dramatic changes during puberty and descending into "womanhood", guys are busy play fighting or preoccupied talking about big boobs. LOL.

Noo, no im not a man-hater. Love the fellas.

But no seriously think about it...so like lets say Lisa is 19. Then Lisa needs to be dating a guy that is at least 23, 24....interesting.

Okay but now lets turn this flip side and get a little little off topic...

What about fellas that go after younger women....i.e. a 24 yr old male and a 18 yr old female ?
(lets make this example legal LOL!)

Not too sure about the reasoning behind this...

is it because they are unlucky with women their age?
                  is it the "young booty"?

or it could just be they are naturally attracted to the young woman regardless of her age.

                  Maybe all 3.

                  hmmm.

This is no battle of the sexes y'all, just putting my questions out there! haaha!

                  My Post About Nothing...

So, I'm just gonna ramble for a little...don't worry this might be interesting.

The first thing that just popped into my head is TWITTER.
I want to know what is so great about it...should I give in to the pressure and create one?
                  LOL...ehh idk.

Anyway, I was thinking that I should write a book. I was speaking to my home frying pan Moses and we were just going on and on about life.

We got to make it in this world! In this lifetime! I'm like Oprah when it comes to this stuff.

I know we all have some kind of purpose here...God placed us here for something. For me, I'm not 100% sure of that yet, but as far as I'm alive, its an ongoing journey.

Self discovery...peep my about me on the right side of your screen.
I want to visit a hill or mountain overlooking the horizon, kind of like the ones in professional photographs...And just reflect and delve into the unknown.

                  I type and I think.
The problem is I think too fast, too fast to focus. Kind of like running before the sound of the gun.
                  Whew.

Well since I'm entering a new semester, I have to hold on to my dreams. Keep the lightbulb burning, the energy going.

A friend once said "the results is more important than the means"...
                  Is it really?

Is our success any less reputable if we step on people or have an advantage over others on the way up that ladder?
                  Pause.

Well one thing for sure life has NO equation. Forget what you learn in chemistry. Science cannot possibly answer all questions in life.

LOL on one of my mom's habitual rants, she told my brother, "you gotta wake up and smell the coffee, baby!"

Foldgers smells good yo! Speakin of foldgers...I could use a nice Seattles Best Vanilla Latte right now.

YEA Seattle's Best. Starbucks is way over-rated. Their lattes have no substance sorry to say...And Au Bon Pain is ehhhh alright.

Ok so now I'm WAYYYY OFFF topic.

Alright folks, I think I'm going to stop here before I ramble into a pool of more complete nothingness.
                  Thanks for vibing with me.

                  But about that horizon....

                  Beautiful. ;)

"We all self-concious. I'm just the first to admit it" K. West.

                  Sorry 2009.

I couldnt help but to listen to this leaked "old-or-new idk" track from Mr. Breezy himself.
After listening to the song, I felt kind of sorry for him. I used to be a really big fan of his when he first came out into the music scene. I remember watching late-night MTV and his first single "Run-It" came on. I was like "who is this fineeee brother on tv?? damn he could dance!" LOL. And it all started from there.

Still got love for Chris though. But I truly felt the passion in this song which soundssss too much like what happened between him and his boo Rhi.

[ehh..not feeling the outfit, but read on...]

                  Listen.

I really felt the words in his song. Best wishes to Chris.

                  Pic via. concreteloop.com

                  Toodles

                  See-Oh-Es-Es-Ohh-Emmm...Up & Coming Artist

Recently I've imploded whatever's left on my busted Ipod's memory with songs of artist-on-the-rise Kevin Cossom.

Now if its a really great track, it doesnt take more than 2 playbacks to make me fall in love.

And certainly it did. The song that had me falling was called "Hang That Over My Head"
Dont worry, I got you later on in the post where you can hear these songs.

The song is basically about this relationship he is in where he's messed up and made some mistakes. In turn, his girl has "forgiven" him but everytime they argue or get into rough times she's always brings up stuff he has done in the past that he figured they've already gotten over. So simply in his frustration, he says "if you cant get over it then tell me my time is up".

Another track would be a slow and easy song called "Relax"

LOL....*hint* the title...this one is featuring Snoop. Where you been bwoi??!

But anyway if u want to bang his tracks hit up his myspace page. I would say tweet him but I dont tweet myself. LOL.

                  Currently bumping "Compatible" ft. Bali...DAMN.

                  http://www.myspace.com/kevincossom

Dont get me wrong....he's no rookie to the game...you can read into that on the BIO section of his page.

PS. Sorry didnt know "Relax" wasnt on his Myspace...but you can take a listen here =)

UPDATE: the song playing on my page right noww.

                  Posts to come...

So i dont forget cuz i will!

                  - Chris's new song
                  - Artist on the rise
